The Weblog

This page contains news, event information, and other items added by Ian and Adam, the resident farmers at Old 99. We send out a message every week, but most are set with a delete date about two weeks later. I archive some of the posts if they have content other than weekly availability of produce and meat.

You can send me questions too, which if they are of a general nature, I can post to this Old99 blog.

Week of Sept 5 2021

Wow, where did the summer go to so quickly!

The end of summer means lots of harvest from the fields and orchard.
Veggies available this week include turnip greens, purple top white turnips, rainbow swiss chard, collard greens, scallions (Bunching onions), Leeks, fuku Komachi turnips, carrots, tropeana onions, purple potatoes, white potatoes, red skinned potatoes, health kick salad blend, grand rapids lettuce and much more!
Asian and European pears are now being picked. Tree ripened and of course organic. Fancy grade blemish free for eating out of the hand and bulk for canning. Watermelons, musk melons (cantaloupe) and many varieties of tomatoes can be ordered online.

Don’t forget about our amazing pastured beef and pork as well as our very popular pastured eggs.

Please remember to place your order before 7am Thursday. Orders placed after this time may not be processed. Market pickup times are 4pm to 6pm Thursday and Friday.

Reminder: our Equinox Celebration is two weeks away. I thank all those already signed up via eventbrite, and there is still room for you. We want to celebrate the end of summer, a great harvest, and local climate actions.
We’ve set up a leisurely day starting around 2pm with farm walk discovery.

People with projects to share will be ready to talk to you about how they are helping reduce carbon pollution and more.
We have icecream made here for you at 4 and a talk on current climate situations and how we might be affected. Dinner made from Old99 produce is at 6 and live music by The Rewynds at 7:30 will roll out the celebrations.
Guests are welcome but please register all attendees with a free eventbrite ticket.
