Roasting hens are in the freezers as of today. We raised 100 birds from chicks over the last 2 months, and boy did they have a good life. After a week in a brooder with supplemental heat they went to a large barn stall and then to the open pasture as soon as they grew feathers and shed their down. Of course we had to protect them from predators with electric fence and a shelter from rain. All but three survived to eat organic grain ration and grass and bugs and soak up the sunshine.

I have a beef in aging at the butcher, should be ready third week of July. Half is sold already.

Adam has a good selection of green coming on now and is still looking for CSA share customers.
