The Weblog

This page contains news, event information, and other items added by Ian and Adam, the resident farmers at Old 99. We send out a message every week, but most are set with a delete date about two weeks later. I archive some of the posts if they have content other than weekly availability of produce and meat.

You can send me questions too, which if they are of a general nature, I can post to this Old99 blog.

Haying Season here, can you help a bit?

Yes, we really need your help for a few hours. Yesterday my hay supplier, a good organic local farmer, had the bales ready to deliver. They are now sitting on my lawn beside the barn! Rain is coming on saturday and for the following week it looks soggy.
So Im asking if you can spare a couple hours Thurs or Friday, just say when it suits you. I’ll make a schedule so there are enough people to be a team in the barn and outside. Will take min 4 people and could be easier with 6.

Send me a reply when you could help us, and how many helpers m ight come with, eg teenage kids who can lift 40 lbs without difficulty . We’ll be starting 10am Thurs and going through the afternoon, same on friday. If an evening crew shapes up, we can do that too.
Thanks in advance,
Ian
