The Weblog

This page contains news, event information, and other items added by Ian and Adam, the resident farmers at Old 99. We send out a message every week, but most are set with a delete date about two weeks later. I archive some of the posts if they have content other than weekly availability of produce and meat.

You can send me questions too, which if they are of a general nature, I can post to this Old99 blog.

Week of January 22nd 2024

Greetings from Old 99 and Equilibrium Acres,

I hope that your month has been going smoothly and that you’ve been keeping warm through the cold snap we’ve had, we’re looking forward to the coming thaw, and relative warmth that’s coming up.

As we get to this part of the year on the farm our selection of produce is reducing as you may notice from the list below, we are still happy to have some fresh cold hardy greens to share from our greenhouses, and lots of storage crops still going strong.

We are launching a Farm Baked Fresh Frozen 2lb Sourdough trial, Cami has been perfecting her recipe and it is delicious, these need a week lead time, and cost $10 per loaf, let us know if you’d like one.

Available this week (Asterisks demarcate items in this weeks CSA box):

Arugula, Roquette
Celeriac*
Garlic*
Herbs: Sage
Kale: Curly, Red Russian*
Leeks*
